Halloween 2015

Pumpkin Carving

We had alot of fun at the Sunset this year for Halloween.  We started with a some pumpkin carving.  It was good old messy fun.  Who doesn't like to make a mess every now and then?  And what is better then sitting at the bar drinking your favorite beer and carving a pumpkin.

Our host that evening was Jon Lyons from Southern Tier Brewing company.  Pumking was on tap and we all really enjoyed this fine beer.

Choosing the best pumpkin was so hard.  It was neck and neck and finally the winner was chosen.  MaryAnn Curzi, who carved the Sugar Skull Pumpkin was our winner.  Second and third place went to Ed Reagan (Super Creative VW Pumpkin) and Jamie Bosier (Cute Owl Pumpkin).

Our fist prize winner won Southern Tier apparel and a $25 Sunset Gift Card.  Second & Third each won a Southern Tier 6 pack.

Halloween Bash

Our Halloween Bash was lots of fun!  Our Zombie bartender was absolutely amazing!  Great costumes by all!!!

Sunset Grille New Menu!

Our new menu is finally here!

We are very excited to share with you some new tastes.  We have kept alot of our original dishes but have added quite a few

We are going back to our humble beginnings with our menu expansion in the southwestern direction.  We are now offering more choices of enchiladas, burritos, taco and fajitas and more.

Carne Asada

One of our new entree's is Carne Asada.  Carne Asada simply means grilled meat.  In this case we use steak,  which is marinated with some of our special ingredients and then it is dry rubbed with even more of our special ingredients and fire-grilled to perfection.  Sorry about all the special ingredients, but if I tell you what they are than they would not be special anymore.  We are serving this with our all new Boracho Beans and rice.  Sorry about the super close up picture, but it was the only one I had and I was excited to share this.

What are Boracho Beans?

Boracho beans are also known as drunken beans.  We begin with pinto beans which are soaked in beer and simmered for hours.  Select spices and more are added to make a great tasting bean, you will not forget.  Boracho Beans can easily replace refried beans on any Mexican dish and are replacing them on southwestern menus across the country.

Baja Salmon

Salmon has made it to our menu and is a must try.  We use what we refer to as our Baja seasonings which are just the right touch to make this salmon memorable.  You will be able to taste our new salmon in our Baja Salmon SaladBaja Salmon Entree and our Fish Tacos.

We are very excited about our new menu and hope you will be too.

See you soon!

Goose Island & Shock-top tasting

Great Beers, Great Friends and Free t-shirts!

Tonight we featured Goose Island India Pale Ale and we all got FREE samples and some lucky ones even got some FREE t-shirts, glasses and more stuff.

Here is a little description about Goose Island IPA from Goose Island.

Our IPA recalls a time when ales shipped from England to India were highly hopped to preserve their distinct taste during the long journey. The result, quite simply a hop lover’s dream. And this classic ale adds a fruity aroma, set off by a dry malt middle, to ensure that the long hop finish is one you’ll remember.

Shock-top was our other featured beer this evening.

Shock Top Belgian White is a medium-bodied, unfiltered Belgian-style wheat ale, with a smooth, citrus mouthfeel and a naturally cloudy, light golden color.

Thank you Allentown Beverage and Lisha for hosting this event at the Sunset Grille.
